Alex Song is not a consistent starter for Barcelona and Manchester United can take advantage of this as the Premier League club is interested in signing the Cameroonian midfielder.

In December of 2013, Song was linked with a possible move to either Arsenal or Manchester United but the midfielder rejected all the offers that were made as he replied by saying that he wants to prove himself in Barcelona but his lack of matches if evidence that he still has not gained all the confidence of the head coach Gerardo Martino.

It is believed that Song is eager for playing time and that David Moyes is ready to make a move for him. The 26 years old midfielder was given a rare start for Barcelona when they went against Real Sociedad a few days ago and he scored a goal which ultimately led to the 3rd defeat that Barcelona suffered in this season.

Song was recently featured in an article letting girlfriends know how to help their boyfriends at World Cup time (read the full article at’s-Passion-for-the-2014-World-Cup), with the article highlighting how fans can suddenly switch allegiance once players start wearing their country’s shirt – and especially when they are rumoured to be moving on soon!

Ilkay Gundogan is another player who is on the watch-list of David Moyes as he wants to sign new players who can solve the midfield crisis they have been suffering from in this current campaign. Juan Mata was already signed not too long ago but a few more players are expected to join in the summer.

Gundogan has taken a hit in his career after suffering from a back injury which has left him out of action for quite some time now and his contract has less than 18 months remaining with his current club Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United is expected to do a major change in the team with a number of players not only entering the club but leaving as well.
