ASIA TOUR

Manchester United will be making the pre-season tour to Asia, which will also be their first pre-season tour without manager Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm after a long time.

Captain Nemanja Vidic has spoken about the delight of visiting Asia once again. This is not the first time Manchester United will be touring this region of the world. In fact, the highest concentration of Manchester United fans come from this region and the club has been able to significantly boost its revenues through shirt sales in this region. David Moyes and his men will be visiting regions like Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Australia over the next few weeks as part of their pre-season tour.

Manchester United are not the only Premier league team to be visiting this region over the course of the summer, as the likes of Chelsea will also be in this region for their pre-season. Even though the journey is a lengthy one to get to this region, Vidic is extremely confident and happy to be present here. He has recalled how Manchester United’s stadium – Old Trafford – receives a lot of Asian supporters for every home match and it is a great delight to be playing in their own backyard for once.

“I’m very excited. We’ve had good experiences in Asia before and I hope we have a good one again. We know we have supporters all around the world and we try each year to give them a chance to see a game and meet us. United have done a great job at that over the years. The fans in Asia are always very excited to see us and are very passionate about Manchester United. They respect the players and they love the club,” said Vidic, who missed a large portion of last season due to injury.
